Earthnova is an open-access educational platform created to help young people understand the science and impacts of climate change, as well as solutions to build a sustainable future through core content, series, and relevant news articles that highlight the latest developments.

This platform is intended for students under the age of 18, as well as teachers, schools, parents, guardians, adult learners, and anyone interested in the topics. 

If you are under 13 years of age, you may use this site with: 

  • Parental consent or
  • Teacher or school accounts that act as the student's agent, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
Purpose of the Website

Earthnova is an educational platform designed to support learning about climate change, environmental and social systems, sustainability, and civic responsibility. All content is provided for learning purposes only and does not constitute advice of any kind.  

User Accounts

We require users to create an account through Google single sign-on or Native login for complete access to the site. Students also have the option to access the site using the Classroom Code provided by their teachers or schools. 

We collect the minimal information needed for site access. We take student privacy seriously and comply with all laws, including COPPA. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand what we collect and how it is used. 

Intellectual Property

All the content on the website, including text and lesson plans belong to Earthnova (and Youngzine as the parent organization) or the sources referenced in images and links. 

You may view and use content for personal, educational, or classroom use with proper attribution. You may not copy, sell, or distribute content for commercial purposes. For non-commercial purposes, you will need written authorization from Earthnova/Youngzine. 

Our website may occasionally link to other educational and informational websites. We are not responsible for content or privacy practices on external sites. Always review their terms and policies separately. 

If you are an avid photographer and are willing to contribute to our image repository, please reach out to us. We also welcome educators interested in creating meaningful and relevant lesson plans aligned with Earthnova's content and mission. 

Disclaimer

We do our utmost to ensure the content is accurate and reflects the latest understanding of the issues. We cannot guarantee it is always accurate or error-free. Climate science evolves, and learning is ongoing. 

We also ensure that the images we use are licensable and link back to the image sources. Earthnova is a public-interest, open-source educational platform. We respect all content creators. If you have a concern about any specific image, please reach out to us to remove the image.
